With drive and determination Pomnisa hopes to give Christian music a new countenance by making contemporary music that inspires, uplifts, heals, and delivers. God has purposed her to ignite a love for Him through the power of music. Pomnisa was raised in a mostly single family home in a small city outside of Richmond, Va. Her mother was a hardworking mom who struggled to take care of her and her younger siblings. Her father was there physically, but not spiritually. He struggled with heavy alcohol addictions that eventually lead to his passing in 1994 when she was just 14 years old. Pomnisa used music as her calming waters through all the issues of her youth. Her gifts for singing were first discovered in her hometown church choir where she led many solos and sang at different churches. In 1993 she entered her first talent show and was awarded first place. It was in that moment that she truly understood her call. During her high school career she allowed music to be her therapy in her grandmothers passing by continuing to sing at various churches, special events, and performing in her high school choir. In 1994, 1995, and 1997, she won first place in her high school's talent show. For her achievements in the talent show and school choir she was awarded the Petersburg Optimist Award for excellence in music. That's when she knew that if others considered her gift special enough for recognition, then she would have to pursue it. After graduating high school Pomnisa attended college at Norfolk State University and then Old Dominion University where she majored in vocal music education. While at Old Dominion University, she was afforded the opportunity to record a CD with the Old Dominion University choir. In 2004 her demo was recorded and is currently being marketed. After graduating college she was hired for a choral position at a school that was ironically named An Achievable Dream, an inner city school for at risk students. Currently she attends Calvary Revival Church and has been a member of the choir for five years. She is frequently invited to perform music at different events throughout the Hampton Roads and Tri-City area. It is her mission in life to share with the world the message and the gift that God has implanted in her spirit. Her desire is to fulfill the purpose that God set forth for her, and to honor the call that He has placed on her life.
