Rebecca Aadland's CD, Foreign Soul, showcases fresh, heartfelt songs. Eleven fine Minnesota musicians contribute their talent to this, her first album. The tracks were mostly recorded in Minneapolis at IPR (The Institute of Production & Recording). Rebecca works as a psychotherapist in private practice, but is actively writing, recording and performing her music. Her focus has been to write songs that matter. Humor, honesty and paradoxical observations come to play in creating songs that seem to resonate with a variety of people and age groups. There is much here for the broken hearted, seeking love again (Foreign Soul, Vulnerable, You're Just Right, Ode to Crazy, So Sorry), those that dare to look closer at themselves (Feelin' Bad, Racing Heart, Heal Me, Baby) & spiritual seekers that defy tradition (God Stuff, Gems, Woman, Breathe Easy). Rebecca's songs are partly her story, stories of those close to her, & insight that emerges in her professional work. She wrote the following at the celebration of her CD release, 'Here's to loving boldly, embracing imperfection, appreciating beauty, and doing work that fills our soul!
