Unabridged Journals of a Former Child Star[CD]
'The Unabridged Journals...' follows the path of confessional songwriting like that of it's 2003 predecessor, 'Photographs,' but the keyboards are traded in for an acoustic guitar on the stripped down tale of love gone wrong. 'Journals' is a gut-wrenching look into the aftermath of a breakup, ala Beck's 'Sea Change,' and the results are both poignant and devastating. From the blaring guitars on the opening track, to Lindberg's confession that he 'only plays the guitar to get people to sleep with him' on 'This Little Number,' the album is both intimate and raw; a remarkable sophomore album from a remarkable young performer.
