Ceremonia is a Sacred Sound Journey performed with ancient indigenous instruments to support greater health & well being. An improvisation of spirit-inspired songs from our ancestral past (didjeridu, conch shell, Mayan drone & Peruvian ritual flutes, dinosaur bone ocarina, whistling water vessels, drum, Tibetan bowls & more). Ceremonia is a recording of a three hour Ceremonial Sound Healing Journey held in Sonoma, CA condensed into one hour. After many years of conducting group sound healing ceremonies across the country with my healing partner, Janet Janay Cipriani, it was time to offer a piece representing the essence of our work. So began the process of editing while taking every effort to retain the natural flow of the journey. Ancient indigenous instruments are played around & upon participants to clear, balance & attune mind/body/spirit as we invite and evoke the loving intervention of Spirit that is eager to assist us in remembering our connection to Source. It is through this remembrance that we naturally resonate and restore ourselves and the Earth. This is part of our indigenous, ancestral wisdom returning to us all--part of our Divine Inheritance. Some natural environmental sounds were added to enhance the overall journey. About the Instruments More than musical instruments or tools, they are allies assisting in the activation of cellular memory. Some of the instruments have specific historic Shamanic uses for calling in the Spirit and clearing 'static' in the mental, emotional, and physical bodies. Other instruments are used for ancestor work (releasing harmful family patterns or reconnecting with ancestor spirits as helping allies) and discharging past traumas. Others are for journeying, increasing physical energy, and raising courage. René Jenkins is a multi-instrumentalist, ceremonial sound practitioner, speaker, teacher and professional musician for over 25 years playing trombone, piano, and ancient indigenous instruments. Versed in many styles of music from big band jazz, funk, R&B, reggae, salsa, brass ensembles and pit orchestras, René has backed many established artists in the industry such as Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, the Temptations, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Joe Williams & Gregg Allman, to name a few. He is currently the trombonist for Dick Bright's SRO, a 19 piece soul-rock band with a vast repertoire of music from Motown to hip-hop. René was introduced to the Australian Didjeridu in 1993 and began offering 'sound attunements' integrating music, shamanistic studies, and his desire to bring healing to others. In January 2003, René founded VibeTherapy, a sound healing practice that employs the subtle energetic principles of intention and sound for well being. René, who had begun his sound healing practice just 3 months prior to meeting his most influential teacher, Tito La Rosa, first heard Tito perform in March of 2003. René credits the mastery of Tito La Rosa's work, handed down from the Q'ero elders of Cuzco, as one of the major catalysts that augment his current vocation. 'The many amazing tools and cherished instruments Tito has generously gifted me, have become expressions of my most inner Self. It is through the voice of these ancient instruments that I express my Inspired Spirit. Inspiration expressed is a healing force that inherently inspires others to share their gifts with the world. I feel we are here to inspire each other and offer the gift of our life to Life itself. We are art, and living--an art form.' Currently, as a Ceremonial Sound Practitioner and Healing Performance Artist, René performs 'healing concerts' across the country along with his partner Janet Janay Cipriani, offering private and group sound healing ceremonies, house blessings and workshops. Their presentations include a discussion of the ancient indigenous instruments and their historic metaphysical properties followed by a sound healing experience. VISION STATEMENT: As a Sound Healer of North American Origin, I am fulfilling a role in the Legend of the Eagle and the Condor. As I fulfill this destiny, I am realizing my life-dream of service to raise the consciousness-vibration of the Planet through sound. I do the 'work' through a process of opening to the loving, powerful, and compassionate Forces that are eager to assist us in remembering our Divinity. Through this remembrance, we naturally resonate and restore ourselves and the Earth.
