Ricardo Alonso was born in Mexico City. He attended classical piano lessons for 7 years since he was 8 years old. Soon he discovered Rock and Roll and had some bands in High School. What really make him take music seriously was when he began to listen music with synthesizers, specially the blending of this instruments with classical music, which detonated the need of composing music, first, in the progressive rock genre, and then exploring different styles. He studied in Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and after that, came back to Mexico and began playing Keyboards with pop singers. Eventually began composing music for radio and TV, pop songs for different singers and entered to some national song contests sometimes winning awards. Seven years ago, after a broken back and three surgeries, he decided to compose only the music in the different genres he wanted to, and until this day he has 4 CD's of original music, based on synthesizers that are in the vein of progressive, new age rock, with stints of latin, industrial, world music. And is almost finishing his fifth CD. Many songs of the previous albums have been in the TOP TEN in Broadjam, in categories such as new age, progressive rock, unique, soundtracks, latinamerica and Mexico. On April, 2006, the song KANIKANI WAIRUA won the BROADJAM WORLD/LATIN CONTEST. I recommend, besides KaniKani, El Ultimo Adios, Melancolia and Meditacion en Alfa for relaxing, Revolution and Contrarreloj for dancing (!!), Camino a Nirvana for hard rock fans, and the rest of songs for progressive dreamers. This album (as well as the others) is a very strong and sincere effort and the goal is to make the listener feel diverse emotions with each song. Hope you like it !!!.
