I began playing bass guitar in a garage band when I was 15 years old. By the time I was 17, I was playing in a nationally known band from Memphis (The Gentrys - 'Keep on Dancing'). I later recorded an album with a group from Nashville called Rich Mountain Tower. After that band spilt up, I moved to NYC and played in rock, jazz and country bands in Manhattan and Queens. As time passed by, I got married and quit playing music for a living. At the age of 30, I became a Christian, and began playing with a group of newly converted musicians like myself. We all quit playing in our weekend bands, and started writing songs about our faith in Christ. As members of the band began moving away from Memphis, including myself, I started playing acoustic guitar so that I could continue in a music ministry without a group. One night I was reading the bible (Psalm 37) and playing my guitar and started experimenting with making songs out of bible verses. Most of the songs on the CD were written this way.
