Together with Stuff Smith, Eddie South was the predominate black jazz-violinist of the Swing Era and helped transform the violin into a jazz instrument on a par with brass and reeds. This volume begins with South's last European recordings prior to his return to the U.S. in 1938, and ends with his last sessions before the recording ban.
