Product Notes
Brainfeeder presents a special remastered vinyl repress of the inimitable Flying Lotus' seminal 2006 debut album: 1983. A record that defined the emerging LA beat scene and established Flying Lotus as it's talismanic figurehead. Remastered audio by Daddy Kev; a brand new sleeve design incorporating a sleek iridescent gold metallic sleeve with emboss detailing on black vinyl.
A generational talent, GRAMMY-winning FlyLo is known for his boundary-defying approach to music and storytelling and has cemented his status as one of the most influential and creative voices in modern experimental music and visual art. Across seven critically acclaimed studio albums, Ellison has carved out a distinct sonic universe - fusing jazz, hip-hop, IDM, soul, and psychedelic textures - while collaborating with a staggering array of artists including Thom Yorke, Erykah Badu, Thundercat, David Lynch, and Kendrick Lamar, notably contributing production to the Pulitzer Prize-winning To Pimp A Butterfly. His production on Thundercat's 2020 album It Is What It Is earned him a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album, and another nod for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical that year. Prior to this he picked up 2016 Grammy noms for Best Dance Recording ('Never Catch Me'), and Album of the Year (To Pimp a Butterfly - producer). As the founder of Brainfeeder in 2008, Flying Lotus has cultivated one of the most forward-thinking rosters in music, home to game-changers like Kamasi Washington, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Thundercat. The label has become a global hub for experimental music, jazz futurism, and cross-genre innovation.Credits
