- John Coltrane's celebrated masterpiece
- Special double-LP "Supreme" Edition - FIRST EVER reissue on vinyl - The ONLY complete, continuous, live recording of A Love Supreme - Mastered and cut by Grammy winning Lewis Hopkins at Stardelta - Includes a replica pull-out original concert poster. Celebrating SIXTY YEARS since the original recording of the acclaimed masterpiece A Love Supreme. A Love Supreme was originally recorded in one take in December 1964 and was released the following year by Impulse Records. The critically acclaimed album, a suit comprising of four parts, is universally recognised as Coltrane's masterpiece and has been certified Gold in the UK and Platinum in the USA. In July 1965 the John Coltrane Quartet were booked to appear at the 6th International Jazz Festival, Juan- Les-Pins, Antibes, France, it was to be their final visit to Europe. On their first night, Monday 26th July, they performed the complete A Love Supreme suit with the original line-up: John Coltrane (tenor sax), McCoy Tyner (piano), Jimmy Garrison (bass) and Elvin Jones (drums). The performance was recorded by French TV but sadly only 12-minutes has survived. Fortunately, the Charly archivists have retrieved and restored the entire live concert, the ONLY performance by the original musicians. Available for the first time on double-vinyl and presented in a 5mm spine sleeve with a replica concert poster, this really is a "supreme"special edition.Credits
