Chafing against his studies in early-'80s Queens, sixth-grader Paul Graff (Banks Repeta) had the friendship of fellow outsider Johnny Davis (Jaylin Webb) and the indulgence of his émigré grandpa Aaron (Anthony Hopkins), if not much patience or understanding from his folks (Anne Hathaway, Jeremy Strong).
