While She's Not There and Tell Her No were hits in 1965, most of The Zombies' subsequent recordings didn't resonate on an equal level with pop music fans. This 36-track collection is evidence that chart position doesn't always equate to quality, certainly not with regard to Rod Argent, Chris White, Colin Blunstone and the boys! Included is the group's entire 1965 album Begin Here plus 22 songs that appeared on 45s and EPs; indeed, it's those non-LP sides (all but two are original compositions) that best demonstrate The Zombies' strengths. Crisp monophonic remastering by Jon Astley gives these recordings plenty of punch without compromising the sonic nuances; combined with John Tracy's liner notes and a beautifully designed package, this set is a treat for the eyes as well as the ears!
