Product Notes
Pink Martini's first new music since 2020's hit "The Lemonade Song", "Bella ciao" is a brand new EP with four new studio recordings of quintessential songs from the band's current touring set, featuring Pink Martini's long-time lead singer China Forbes, along with lead vocal tracks from Storm Large and Edna Vazquez. The title track "Bella ciao," featuring lead singer Storm Large, is a brand new version of the traditional Italian anti-fascist protest and liberation song that has been a popular sing-along hit for the band in concert over the last year. Release day focus track "Pourquoi tu vis" features long-time Pink Martini lead vocalist China Forbes, in a French version of the catchy Spanish classic "Porque te vas." Forbes also contributes lead vocals to an epic 2025 update to "Aspettami," which first appeared on the band's second album "Hang on Little Tomato," a song which she co-wrote with Pink Martini founder and bandleader Thomas M. Lauderdale. Finally, regular Pink Martini guest singer performs the enchanting "Destino," a song written for the short film of the same name, which was a 1940s collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dali, finally released in 2003.
