Product Notes
A documentary film about Michael Chambers, the American dancer, and actor also known as "Boogaloo Shrimp." Michael is most renowned for his role as "Turbo" in the 1984 cult movie "Breakin'" and it's sequel "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo." He also worked one-on-one with superstar Michael Jackson and shares stories about his experiences in the documentary. In the documentary, Michael shares his extraordinary journey as a dancer, choreographer, actor, singer, comedian, host, and speaker. We learn how he started out as a child star playing "Turbo" in the movie "Breakin" with the legendary "broom" scene, and in "Breakin' 2" with the iconic bedroom scene, where he dances on the walls and the ceiling. Michael also talks about how, still as a teenager, he went on tour with Lionel Richie and appearing in his music video "All Night Long." Michael reveals what it was like to work one-on-one with Michael Jackson with his freestyle routines, and how he was featured in many music videos including Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You" and "Stop The Madness"(an anti-drug music video with Nancy Reagan.) He was also featured in the 1983 documentary "Breakin n' Enterin'," played "Urklebot" on the TV Show "Family Matters," hosted the TV Show "Fun House," and was featured on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon dancing with Jerry Lewis. Other highlights included in the documentary cover how Michael choreographed Bart ("The Simpsons") in "Do The Bart Man" and MC Skat Cat in Paula Abdul's music video "Opposites Attract." In more recent years, he has toured Asia, dancing, teaching and singing, and has appeared on the Steve Harvey Show and TMZ. A master of liquid animation dance with his famous popping, ticking, waving, not to mention the backslide "moon walk", Michael has a fascinating story to tell.
