Social worker Lynda Carter discovers that an adoption agency is really an illegal baby-selling operation. Dean Stockwell runs a home for unwed mothers, and pressures the young women to give up their babies to supply Harold Goulds adoption agency. Carter is attacked and nearly murdered in her home by an unknown assailant, which makes her all the more determined to put Stockwell and Gould out of business.
