Product Notes
One of the major defining voices of Philly Soul, Johnny Ingram first came to prominence as lead vocalist for the self contained family operation known as Ingram, undoubtedly the first soul music family of Philadelphia. As one of the most sought out voices in the realm of soul music, Johnny traveled the world performing with R&B legends Al Green and Patti LaBelle for over fourteen years and in 2002 was featured in the Grammy Award-Winning Film, "Standing in the Shadows of Motown," about Motown's prodigious studio band-the Funk Brothers. Johnny toured the world with the Funk Brothers until 2004 when he left to assume the role of lead singer with the legendary soul band, MFSB. Presented here is a rare 1985 single, on which Johnny performs two originals - "Can I Take You Home Tonight?" and "You're Too Good to Be True." Newly re-mastered.
