Set in Mexico, this noirish drama stars Lew Ayres as Lin Vanner, an American oil company supervisor who shoots and kills a man he suspects robbed the company's payroll. But Vanner discovers he was innocent and, complicating matters even further, is the deceased man's widow (Teresa Wright), with whom he has fallen in love.
