Product Notes
'Cat Tales' happened in a serendipitous moment, where I ended up in an amazing studio with three of the most sensitive and most swinging musicians. What you hear is what happened that magical afternoon. I hope you feel the love that we put into this CD. I want you to walk away feeling renewed and embraced. Cat Conner has been singing and entertaining most of her life and is thrilled to present her first CD 'Cat Tales'. Career highlights include singing throughout France, Brazil & Canada, being featured with several well known Big Bands and with jazz greats Freddie Hubbard, Mundell Lowe and Joe Pass. With a voice that is rich and sultry, and an infectious smile, Cat is known for her ability to swing. 'Top vocalist...radiating warmth and enthusiasm!' Dirk Sutro, Los Angeles Times. On piano, George Mesterhazy, is a singer's dream accompanist who has worked with an array of musical heavyweights such as Shirley Horn, Rebecca Parris, Les Paul, Karrin Allyson, Paula West, Gary Burton and is now musical director for Mark Murphy. His performing and arranging credits include the two Grammy-nominated Shirley Horn recordings. Gene "Cip" Cipriano is a master of all the woodwind instruments but is especially known for his cool, swinging tenor sax and clarinet work. Known as the "most recorded man in history", Cip's impressive career embodies movies, TV and recordings with Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, Elvis Presley, Judy Garland, Rosemary Clooney and Miles Davis-to name a few. On bass, Jim Hughart started out playing with Ella Fitzgerald and continued to tour and record with some of the biggest names in music including Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Barbara Streisand, Oscar Peterson and many more! Paul Tavenner of Big City Recording made my CD sound like you are right there with us. He has recorded and mastered many wonderful artists such as Joe LaBarbera & Ernie Watts.
