Mads Tolling, internationally renowned violinist is a two time Grammy Award-Winner and a member of Turtle Island Quartet and Stanley Clarke Band. "Celebrating Jean-Luc Ponty - Live at Yoshi's" is Tolling's third CD release in his own name. Tolling pays homage to his mentor, the great French jazz violinist, Jean-Luc Ponty, who recommended him to Stanley Clarke a decade ago. Tolling does so with his quartet in an electric atmosphere at the famed Bay Area jazz club, Yoshi's. Ponty hits such as New Country and Enigmatic Ocean are given new life with tuneful arrangements and inspired playing by the Mads Tolling Quartet.
