This recording brings together two core members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, it's leader, saxophonist Marshall Allen as well as saxophonist and multiinstrumentalist Danny Ray Thompson together with rising piano and keyboard stars Jamie Saft, bassist Trevor Dunn, drummer Balazs Pandi. Recorded at the Potterville International Sound studio in NY State over three days in 2017, 'Ceremonial Healing' features the late Trombonist Roswell Rudd in one of his very last recorded appearances. These recordings, a psychedelic three day free improvisation (one per day per disc) are tribute to the boundless power and legacy of the Sun Ra Arkestra achieved through the lens of an intergenerational collective improvvisation and skill transfer.
