Outside of Barcelona, 17-year-old José Maria (Victoria Abril) sought to identify as a woman, and that was absolutely the last thing that his macho father (Fernando Sancho) wanted to hear. Dragged to a burlesque show to be toughened up, José Maria meets his first trans woman in dancer Bibi (Bibiana Fernández)... and ultimately gets taken under her wing in joining the cabaret. Vicente Aranda's challenging post-Franco opus co-stars Lou Castel, Rafaela Aparicio. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Spanish DTS HD mono Master Audio; Subtitles: English; featurettes. 108 min.
