Product Notes
The conch shell exemplifies the versatility, sublimity, and transcendence of nature - a natural dwelling, a biological work of art, and, as shown by the City of Tomorrow, an instrument. Nature, the debut Ravello Records release by the City of Tomorrow wind quintet, showcases works by David Lang, Luciano Berio, Denys Bouliane and Nat Evans that explore the evolution of humanity's relationship with nature. NewMusicBox praises the City of Tomorrow for "[their] extraordinary sense of ensemble, not just in terms of rhythmic precision but in tone color, balance, gesture, and sensitivity".
