Cochise Anderson: Actor, spoken word - performance artist, storyteller, cultural arts educator, traditional musician, poet and playwright COCHISE ANDERSON re-constructs the perspectives of our modern culture through a Native American point of view. Cochise Anderson's long-awaited debut album, 'The Kemosabe Therapy' an eclectic ensemble of 'word songs', was nominated for the 2005 Indian Summer Music Awards in the category of Spoken Word. This is a live show recorded at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, MN with bonus DVD footage from the Wolve's Den in Minneapolis, MN. During his one-man performance, 'The Only Good Poet is a Read Poet' (Playwrights Center, Minneapolis, MN), Cochise became inspired to create 'The Kemosabe Therapy', a full-length album paying homage to his ancestors' message of love & rebellion. Cochise states, 'It is the impetus of my art to bring the oral tradition to a new experience for all'. By recognizing his elders and listening close to other artists, Cochise gives his gratitude to the traditions of the people from the many nations he has been honored to be among. From the 'Mohawk Robin Dance' to the 'Zuni Sunrise Song' to the Chickasaw-Choctaw 'Lonesome Song', he gives many thanks!! These traditional songs have inspired new songs and poems such as 'Coyote State of Mind', 'Moon Behind the Clouds' and 'How the West Was One'. Now Cochise looks to the future by integrating this vision of past and present with a contemporary beat and brings to life 'spoken word' statements such as 'Stop Dreaming', 'Pro-Ject' and 'The Kemosabe Therapy' that address the dilemma(s) of our modern times. Are you ready to hear something fresh, exciting, and unlike anything you have ever heard before? Then have a listen to the CD and check out Cochise!
