LA MARAVILLA - Conexion Cubana - I was pleasantly surprised and very happy when our friend Detlef Engelhard, the production director of Termidor, suggested that it might be a good idea to revive my Conexión Cubana project after 13 years (seven of them nonstop) of Soneros de Verdad. And it's turned out to be a fantastic opportunity for this team of topnotch musicians to continue sharing our vision of popular Cuban music with the world, with a special focus on son, which all of our country's danceable rhythms are derived from.
