It's also the goal for Kenny Lee (Quaid), a touring pro from Fort Worth, Texas who has his ups and downs on the professional circuit. Kenny's caddy, Spec (Riley), matches him up with a flamboyant, wealthy sponsor named 'Bad Hair' Wimberly (Warden). Wimberly convinces Kenny to return to the lucrative country club circuit of sponsorship tours. Kenny is married to Beverly (Harrold), an upper-middle-class woman from Dallas who is getting impatient with his insensitive behavior. When Beverly is hospitalized, it teaches Kenny a lot about how much he cares for her, and how much they care for each other. Her spirit keeps him going and he starts giving extra attention to his putting at the U.S. Open. More than ever, Kenny is inspired to score a dead solid perfect shot.
