Product Notes
UK collection from the R&B/Blues singer, songwriter and producer. Making a Good Thing Better compiles all of her singles As and Bs as originally released on US Westbound between 1970 and 1976, plus the bonus of the UK-only single 'Do Me Right' - a US hit for label mates the Detroit Emeralds. Nine of these singles made the US R&B charts, three of them breaching the Top 5 including the #1 Hit (#13 Pop) 'Trapped By a Thing Called Love' - appearing here on CD for the first time in it's original mono single mix. The majority of these tracks were recorded in Memphis at Hi Studios, under the supervision of renowned producer Willie Mitchell. Even though Westbound is a Detroit label, these sides are as Southern as Southern Soul gets.
