Denise LaSalle was the absolute Queen of what we loosely call 'Soul/Blues'-sharp lyrics, sharp clothes and tough performances. This superbly recorded 2007 Live Concert with a top notch American band shows Denise is a different setting from her studio albums. Small group, tough blues, a funkier performance than allowed by her studio producers. This is an important and enlightening album.
