Seasons Four is perhaps one of the most pivotal in the series. Charlene (Jean Smart) gives birth to her new baby girl; Suzannes (Delta Burke) high school reunion provokes realizations about body image; Mary Jo (Annie Potts) gets a part-time job flipping burgers and begins dating a minister; Julia (Dixie Carter) attends her sons wedding; and Anthony graduates and gets shot by Suzanne! Alice Ghostley continues her recurring role as the befuddled and lovable Bernice Clifton, who in Season Four must go to court to prove her competence with the help of the Sugarbaker women.
