One of six Dire Straits catalog titles released simultaneously worldwide in cardboard sleeve format, this SHM-CD edition presents the band's self-titled 1978 debut album, which reached No. 5 in the UK and No. 2 in the US and features the signature hit "Sultans of Swing." Celebrated for it's roots music-based sound, vividly descriptive lyrics, and exceptional guitar work by Mark Knopfler, this release includes a cardboard sleeve faithfully reproducing the original first-press UK LP, a reproduction obi inspired by the original Japanese first-press LP obi design, an inner sleeve, liner notes, lyrics, and Japanese translations.
