The hardscrabble life of London's immigrant population is the focus of director Stephen Frears' engrossing drama. Chiwetel Ejiofor, a doctor who fled his native Nigeria and works as a cab driver and hotel night clerk, uncovers a black market organ-buying ring preying on illegal immigrants and is offered the chance to become their "surgeon" and earn a passport and a chance at a new life.
