Product Notes

The Feeling Of Love started out as the solo project of G. Marietta. At first the project was an ephemeral idea that initially couldn't have gone further than a few short songs, belched and recorded for the tape label Luisance Sonore. The postulate was a play on garage blues and no-wave's codes in order to find a primitive, repetitive and minimal idea of rock'n'roll. Finally, after two years of playing gigs in Europe, and a few 7"s out (on Yakisakana, Florida's Dying, Rococo Records, etc.), the "one man band" mutated from a one-piece to a two-piece, and finally to a three-piece band, with Seb Normal (The Normals, Crash Normal, etc.) on drums, and Hess (A.H. Kraken, Vingt Mille Punks) on keyboards. Their music spanned the range from blues and repetitive gimmicks that achieved the same sort of trance states as Krautrock and psychedelia. On their third album, Dissolve Me, the band carry on in the Kraut space garage vein. Songs stretch out, the drums go more tribal, the synth hammers out his keys on an infinite highway, and the guitar gets lost in a delay pedal's fog. Lyrics are even more negative. One thinks of Suicide, Spacemen 3, the Velvet Underground and Pussy Galore. But the Feeling Of Love also love cats, Kurt Cobain, Michael Jordan, Francis Bebey, Bob Dylan and the highway.
