Though associated with bebop and studio work, the remarkable harmonica player Toots Thielemans has always been a very flexible player. On Do not leave me, Toots is accompanied by a modern rhythm section comprised of pianist Fred Hersch, bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joey Baron. Thielemans performs the romantic "Do note live me", plus a 20-minute exploration of "Blue' N Green", and Toots' biggest hit "Bluesette" which features the enthusiastic audience whistling along. More than a decade later, this set still sounds fresh !
