Product Notes
One of the most popular shows in British TV history, this long-running, shoestring-budgeted sci-fi saga followed the exploits of "the Doctor," a maverick scientist and adventurer who traversed space and time in the TARDIS, a high-tech craft disguised (well, stuck, actually) as a London police box. William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy starred as the various eccentric incarnations of the Doctor during the series's initial 1963-1989 run. The seven-episode 1963-64 story arc that introduced the Time Lord's most implacable alien foes is presented here in a colorized, feature-length edit. The Doctor (William Hartnell), Ian, Barbara and Susan land on an irradiated jungle planet, and all too soon encounter the fascistic cyborg race that survived it's nuclear war. Includes the original episodes in their black-and-white cuts. 75 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Atmos, DTS HD 5. 1 Master Audio; Subtitles: English (SDH); featurette.
