One of the most famous doo-wop outfits of all time, The Nutmegs scored several hits starting from their inception in the mid-1950's and became unwitting founders of an a cappella craze that swept the East Coast between 1963 and 1966. Hailing from New Haven, Connecticut, The Nutmegs were led by vocal powerhouse Leroy Griffin. Featured here is their 1958 hit, "Shifting Sands" together with their 1964 hit, "Down in Mexico."
