Product Notes
Digitally remastered and expanded deluxe two CD edition of this 1967 album containing the original mono and stereo mixes of the album, neither of which have been available since initial release in 1967. The deluxe digipak package with 32-page booklet is stuffed with rare photos and memorabilia, and features in-depth liner notes by compiler Alec Palao, based on fresh interviews with the band members and associates. Electric Music for the Mind And Body was the first genuine Psychedelic long player to emerge from the San Francisco Bay Area Rock scene. This album was the first where the sound in the grooves matched the new frontier philosophies of the 1960s generation. Berkeley-based Country Joe McDonald's itinerant band of ex-folkies and rock neophytes forged an unsurpassed blend of satirical humor and socio-political insight with some of the most poignant, beautiful sounds. This debut album is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential records of it's day.
