Product Notes

After decades spent shaping the sound of some of the greatest names in pop and rock, Sue Glover steps forward with her long-awaited solo album, For No Reason At All. Best known as one half of the legendary duo Sue and Sunny alongside her sister Sunny Leslie, Glover's voice has been a defining, if often uncredited, force behind countless classic recordings. Her unmistakable harmonies have elevated tracks by Elton John, T. Rex, Donna Summer, Tom Jones, and Mott the Hoople, cementing her legacy as one of the most respected backing vocalists of her generation. Reflecting on her career, Glover notes, "A duet is a balance... you want voices that mesh well and create something greater together." That philosophy lies at the heart of For No Reason At All, a deeply personal collection that brings her artistry firmly into focus. Sparked by a chance reconnection with musician Steve Annetts, Glover revisited a vault of unreleased material spanning decades. With remastering by Bob Clarke, new arrangements by Bobby Jo Morledge, and fresh vocal contributions from her daughter, these hidden gems have been beautifully restored and reimagined into a rich, genre-spanning collection. From soaring ballads to vibrant pop, the album showcases Glover's versatility as both a singer and songwriter. The title track, penned by Barry Mann, stands out for it's intricate layered harmonies, all performed by Glover herself. Collaboration remains central, with Tony Burrows on "We Found Love" and Bob Saker on "We'll Survive." A particularly special highlight is the previously unreleased duet "You're My Everything," featuring the late Davy Jones, a poignant and joyful moment that captures a treasured musical connection.
