4 + FOUR is a diverse mix of classical and jazz by two fo today's most acclaimed ensembles: The Turtle Island String Quartet and the Ying Quartet. The idea of collaboration was to explore the past, present and future of the string quartet. One of the real strengths of the projects is that it has produced a substantial new repertoire of music specifically composed or arranged for the two quartets.
