Product Notes
LAST CHRISTMAS
Official Motion Picture Soundtrack
Featuring the music of
GEORGE MICHAEL & WHAM!
Release Date: November 8, 2019
On November 8, Universal Pictures will be releasing the film LAST CHRISTMAS. Starring Emilia Clarke (Game Of Thrones) and Henry Golding (Crazy, Rich Asians), directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) and co-written by Oscar winner Emma Thompson (who also stars in the film), the film was inspired by the lyrics to Wham!’s “Last Christmas” and George in general and Thompson presented the project to him and secured his blessing before he passed on Christmas day 2016. The film opens with the entirety of “Last Christmas” and features a total of 15 George Michael and Wham! songs synched strategically throughout the film including an unreleased song “This Is How (We Want You To Get High)” that is the end-title track. While not about George or his life, the film is inspired by him and there are references to George throughout. This offers an amazing opportunity to create an enormous amount of nostalgia for and consumption for those who grew up with George and, more importantly, introduce him to a brand new audience as this film has been generating a massive amount of buzz and will be one of Universal’s priority releases for the holiday season.
