Product Notes
After a four-year hiatus, Belgian death metal veterans Aborted came roaring back with "Global Flatline", a ferocious comeback that reminded everyone why they're considered genre pioneers. Released after "Strychnine.213", this album was welcomed with open arms. Two years in the making, the album reeked of dedication and intense hard work. Produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Denmark, giving it that razor-sharp clarity that became essential to modern extreme metal. What made this album special wasn't just the pure brutality, "Global Flatline" offered both the fastest passages Aborted had ever created as well as the slowest ones these lunatics had ever composed. The result was an organic wall of death metal that left listeners disturbed, deranged and hungry for more. The most redeeming factor was the memorability - while many grindcore acts simply churn out generic songs, "Global Flatline" was filled with memorable riffs, killer hooks and destructive drumming. Guest appearances by Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder), Jason Netherton (Misery Index), Julien Truchan (Benighted), and Keijo Niinimaa (Rotten Sound) finished off the album. The perfect horror soundtrack for the apocalypse.
