Product Notes
Volume 13 in the acclaimed Eric Records "Hard to Find 45s on CD" series spotlights the most common theme in pop music: love! But this collection is far from common. Sure, almost all of the songs are Top 20 hits, but they're not widely available on other CD collections, and some aren't available anywhere else. SIX hits make their CD debut, and half of those appear in stereo for the first time on CD! These include two tracks from the long-lost master tapes by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. And for collectors, there's new stereo by Five Flights Up and the Avant-Garde. On a more serious note, Eric is proud to present the rare and spiritual "Wedding Song (There Is Love)" by Paul Stookey, featuring Stookey's exquisite 12-string guitar playing. It's followed by John Denver's beautiful #1 hit "Annie's Song" and two joyous chorales: The Edwin Hawkins Singers' "Oh Happy Day" and the U.S. CD debut of the classic "A Song of Joy," based on the final movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. All in all, a terrific mix of both lighthearted and inspiring pop gems! Expect the famous sparkling sound and packaging quality found on all the Eric "Hard to Find 45s on CD" volumes, with only the correct single versions from the original master tapes in true stereo. Includes a 12-page booklet with detailed biographies of all the artists by well-known music author Greg Adams.
