Alto presents a 2026 remastered edition of Sir Colin Davis and the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performing Haydn's epic oratorio, The Creation (Die Schöpfung), sung in the original German. Originally recorded in 2007 at The Barbican in London, this thrilling performance of one of the greatest works of the Classical era features a star soloists soprano Sally Matthews, tenor Ian Bostridge, and baritone Dietrich Henschel,.

Soprano Sally Matthews was the winner of the 1999 Kathleen Ferrier Award, and is is recognised as one of Britain's foremost lyric sopranos, her international career encompassing the opera, concert and recital stages, collaborating with many of worlds leading artists and conductors.

Tenor Ian Bostridge CBE's extraordinary international career has taken him to the foremost concert halls, orchestras and opera houses in the world. Synonymous with the works of Schubert and Britten, his recital career has taken him to the Salzburg, Edinburgh, Munich, Vienna, Aldeburgh, and Schwarzenberg Schubertiade festivals and to the main stages of Carnegie Hall, the Bayerische Staatsoper, La Monnaie and Teatro alla Scala. In opera, Ian has received particular praise for his interpretation of Aschenbach (Death in Venice) at the Deutsche Oper and Peter Quint (The Turn of the Screw) for Teatro alla Scala. His recordings have won all the major international record prizes and have been nominated for 15 GRAMMYs.

Baritone Dietrich Henschel began his international career at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Opéra National de Lyon. These appearances were followed immediately by engagements at the Châtelet, and at the Opéra National de Paris he appeared as Pelléas in Bob Wilson's legendary production of Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande. He regularly appears at the world's leading opera houses and festivals with conductors such as John Eliot Gardiner, Christoph Eschenbach, Kent Nagano and Zubin Mehta.
