For individuals who struggle with severe, out-of-control weight problems, life can seem demoralizing and hopeless. Follow the remarkable journeys of dangerously overweight individuals as they attempt to regain their dignity and reclaim their health in the new real-life series, Heavy. With unprecedented access into their weight-loss efforts, A&E chronicles the lives of individuals who, over a five- to seven-month period, will strive to lose 150-300 pounds. Each person's transformation process is told, in it's entirety, in a single episode, from the points of view of both the individual and the friends and family affected by his or her condition. For participants - who come from all walks of life but share the inability to manage their escalating weight - the process will begin with the help of specialists who possess the track records, knowledge and techniques necessary to inspire dramatic results in a short period of time.
