Play Date is the duo of Greg Attonito (lead singer for long-running post-punk band The Bouncing Souls) and his wife Shanti Wintergate. Here, Attonito trades his crunching guitars for chipper children's tunes, a move inspired by a children's book the pair created in 2008. IMAGINATION features music that is seeped in catchy Rock 'n Roll melodies dotted with Folk, Pop, Ska and Punk. Of course, the lyrics are 100% family fare, blending exuberant ditties about memorizing the days of the week or learning the letters of the alphabet with fun songs like "Dance Like A Monster" and the uplifting "Great Day." The music is creative with the right touch of childhood whimsy, featuring both artists sharing lead on vocals against acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums and percussion.
