If this anthology has the title "Impressions of Spain" it is because it is a symbolic commentary on the country. It's source is the secular history of the songs and dances of the Spanish people, a history perpetuated throughout the 20th century, not only by artists in Andalusia and the other regions, and by Hispanic composers in the world of classical music, but also in the eyes of French composers and a few jazz musicians.
