Description
Ramon Novarro sings and charms his way into women's hearts in this Pre-Code musical romance costarring Dorothy Jordan and Lottice Howell. A dashing young playboy who spends more time studying Madrids lovely ladies than books, Ricardo (Novarro) is sent by his father to rural Santiago to get his mind off girls. Discovering there are senoritas in the country as well, Ricardo serenades and wins the fair Carmina (Jordan), daughter of his fathers best friend. Their engagement soon goes awry, however, when Ricardos old sweetheart (Howell) decides to surprise him and drops by for a visit. One of the early talkies produced by M-G-M to spotlight Novarros talent for singing, In Gay Madrid features songs written especially for the film by legendary bandleader Xavier Cugat.
