There have been many reissues of Sophie Tucker's classic recordings from the 20's, 30's and 40's, but gathered here are rare tracks from the '50s in hi-fi and stereo that reflect Sophie's new image and her conquering of television. Among the songs are updated remakes of classics like "Some of These Days" and "My Yiddishe Mama," as well as new saucy material written for her nightclub act. Included are TV and radio appearances with Jimmy Durante, Tallulah Bankhead and Maurice Chevalier.
