Model-turned-actress Anitra Ford also appears as a female scientist who may be behind the bizarre transformations. Stopping short of cheap parody, the film is a tongue-in-cheek horror sci-fi that examines the complicated sexual politics of the 1970s, and it has since become a cult guilty pleasure.
