Their sacrifices have allowed us to share our music with those want or need to hear it. To my band, our band. You are talented individuals who give without the guarantee of stardom or riches. But...... it really all comes down to our fans. You support us, you feed us, you pray for us, you party with us. We write the songs we do for you, and because of you. We represent you in every way. Amongst the five of us, we can relate to almost every one of you at some level: the winners, the losers, the loners, the stoners, the beaten, the broken, the forgiven and the victorious. It describes our lives each and everyday. We have met so many people along the way in this journey, and are grateful for every one of you. Mostly, thank you to God that we get to do something everyday that we enjoy: bringing music into your houses, cars, ears and hearts. Thank you for supporting live music! Cover: Jake Gill CD Title: Tailgate Tradition BIO: CMA recording artist, Jake Gill was born into a family of a high school band teacher, Jake was surrounded by music right away. Pictures from his childhood show Jake engulfed in oversized headphones listening to his Dad's Symphonic record player. Jake remembers the strong horns of Branford Marsalis and other artists, but distinctly remembers Chicago in his ears way before the age of 2. His mom will tell you that even as an infant he would stand on her lap and help his father direct the high school band concert. Throughout his childhood, Jake enjoyed singing at talent shows, school and his Dad's church choir. He won a number of talent contests, and learned to play many musical instruments starting in 5th grade but didn't start to play guitar until high school. College brought a turn in Jake's life and he felt the calling to pursue a career in healthcare, to help as many people as possible. At first he wanted to go to medical school, but after a life changing injury, Jake was led to pursue a career in chiropractic. Jake continued to sing and learned to play guitar in college and played coffee houses and intimate venues while balancing his studies. Graduation brought the need for income to the forefront and he opened a chiropractic practice in Hutchinson, KS. Now, he feels it is time to begin chasing his ultimate dream of playing in the circle on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. His music is best described as a red dirt / rock fusion. Jake's influences arise from many artists, most recently singer/songwriters like Eric Church, Josh Thompson, and Brantley Gilbert. You can hear the influence in his music from these talented musicians. A few of his songs will bring a hint of Kenny Chesney to the forefront. Jake is a huge fan of Kenny's earlier work. Some of the greatest influences on his life have come from the relationships that he has developed over the years. Of course being able to write with his father is one of his biggest highlights. But the loves, the friendships and the good times that Jake has been fortunate to experience is what most people will relate to in his music. Recent accolades include currently opening for many #1 hit artists Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Chris Cagle, Easton Corbin, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew, the LACS and many more. His song 'John Deere Rockstar' was licensed for commercial use in the USA, and has been a mainstay on the Texas Charts. 'Say....It Goodbye' earned him performances on all 3 stages at Country Stampede, the first for any artist in the events history. 2014 marks Jake's first nationwide headling tour. Look for him at a festival or fair near you.
