Product Notes
"Just One Mo' Time" is Jasmine's second volume of classic recordings by The Isley Brothers. The first release back in 2010 was "You Make Me Want To Shout" (JASCD561) which contained 23 recordings from the very beginning of their career. This new set kicks off with the self-penned, "Open Up Your Heart" and a bizarre, but fun, doo wop styled rendition of Victor Herbert's "Gypsy Love Song" from his operetta "The Fortune Teller". The song is also well known via Mario Lanza. The doo-wop orientated mid-tempo "Write to Me" is a superb example of how The Isley's were moulding the uptown soul sound that would soon dominate all of R&B music. Also includes their hit song, and undeniable pop music classic, "Twist & Shout" plus a stunning version of Ray Charles' "A Fool for You" which reveals Ronald's talent for bluesy vocalising in spectacular fashion. This CD and it's predecessor represent just the first six years of Isley Brothers quite remarkable career.
