Nhaoul' is the latest collaboration between two long-time acquaintances - Israeli vocalist and player Kamilya Jubran and French jazz bassist Sarah Murcia. Creating a bridge between early 20th century classical Arabic music and contemporary styles, this project of musical exchange revisits compositions from Jubran's 2008 album Makan. A former member of the Sabreen Association for Artistic Development, which is a voice of resistance and freedom as well as of modern Arabic song, Jubran has toured with different groups and given solo performances. She and Murcia are joined here by a trio of string instruments.
