Rod Rogers And the Travis Jay Jones Orchestra is actually an alias for multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Rodd Keith, who is the best known figure in the obscure musical sub-genre known as song poem music - a practice by which aspiring lyricists submit their wares, and for a fee the record company would put their lyrics to music. Keith wrote, sang and played a variety of instruments on many of these recordings which have since become highly collectible and quite rare. Presented here is the often described musical genius' quirky, Las Vegas themed album, recorded in the early to mid 1960's using the Chamberlin tape playback sampling keyboard, a forerunner of the modern synthesizer.
